Almost perfect
When I received the box the shoulder strap was missing but they very quickly handled that and sent me one to arrive just 1-2 days later. So kudos to the splendid customer support for that! Makes me feel more safe to buy from this place in the future.

As for the bag itself. I studied long time to try and find the "best" convertible bag.
I have now had this bag for some time, work commute with laptop and groceries on way home, biking and weekend excursions+trips.
The bag is ALMOST perfect. I think that for an every day bag it is too heavy and way too many pockets even for a travel case. But it's just there on verge of too heavy. I think I will literally cut away material inside it to make it less cramped because it is a big bag and I need at least 30L for daily commute. But the focus on organization went a bit overboard in my opinion.

So right now, it's the best I've found, and no issue with straps or anything I love being able to shoulder carry when it's warm and sweaty, and then carry on back when heavy or need it to be more secure. And love that it can open like a clam to access things deep inside it.
The ONLY downsides I've found above are not enough to stop using it so give it a try!

Great bag!
Whenever I get a product, I first study almost "every" option in the industry and turn my life into a living hell :) I found Black Ember Forge to be the best multiuse (Travel+EDC) bag around. With the help of a few packing cubes, I used it on a 5 day trip, and once I was there I easily emptied & squeezed the bag into a cool techie designer person meeting bag :) Even if you fill every inner pockets -which are many- with stuff (tech pouch, chargers, mouse, AE headphones, laptop etc.), the bag almost never loses the compact shape (even slimmer than the photos). For my use it was missing a chest/strap pocket, so I fixed it with a tiny pouch and fancy brass carabiner. The (new) matte black material is great and feels like it will last for a really long time. Zippers are smooth and pockets are easy to get used to in a short time. And the delivery was fast and safe. All a great experience.

Perfect Do It All Backpack
I wasn't sure about getting the Multicam colorway, because usually I'm an all-black everything kinda guy. But I'm glad I did, because it looks not as bland as the plain black one, but still "muted".

There's honestly not much to say about the pack itself, and that's a good thing. It's incredibly well build, quality is top notch. Everything about it, like layout and compartments, are really well thought out, one would even say over-engineered and I love it.

For people that demand the best of their gear, this is one of the do-it-all everyday packs to get.

Oh and it's as waterproof as textile bags can get, got showered just yesterday.

One of the best
One of the best backpacks i've ever had, only a few gripes here and there - but nothing massive. Well thought, superbly engineered.
